When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
The ideal time for newborn photos is within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepiest and can be gently posed. It is highly recommended to reach out and book your session while still pregnant to ensure availability. In practice, the average age of newborns photographed is around two and a half weeks. With extensive experience working with newborns, sessions are always guided by the baby's needs and comfort. This experience allows for beautiful newborn photography up to one month old, though earlier is usually best for classic poses. If you prefer a natural, lifestyle style, amazing photos can be created at any age.
Is it safe for my baby?
Safety and hygiene are always the top priorities. The shoots are conducted with full attention to the newborn’s needs and comfort. With extensive experience and knowledge in soothing newborns, I ensure that every session is calm, pleasant, and completely safe. Poses are gentle, and every precaution is taken to create a secure environment where the baby feels relaxed throughout the shoot.
Where does the session take place?
Newborn sessions take place in my specially prepared studio, designed to create the perfect environment for tiny babies. The studio is carefully temperature-controlled and arranged to meet the needs of newborns, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the session. The studio is built with a direct entrance from the parking area, allowing easy and weather-protected access without having to be outside-making it convenient in any weather conditions. This setup allows for achieving exceptional results whether you prefer a classic or natural style. There is also the option to have the session at your home for a more lifestyle and relaxed atmosphere.
What if my baby is fussy or needs to eat?
Babies set the pace! There’s always time for feeding, cuddling, and soothing to keep everyone comfortable
Do I need to bring props or outfits?
All essentials, including wraps, blankets, and props, are provided. Special heirlooms or personal items are welcome if you'd like to include them.
How do I prepare for the session?
A sleepy, well-fed baby helps the session go smoothly. Dress the baby in easy-to-remove clothes and have extra wipes and a pacifier handy. I always recommend feeding the baby just before leaving home and bringing along food if the mother is nursing or pumping; in that case, bringing expressed milk is advised. In any case, the baby sets the pace, and if feeding is needed during the session, we will of course take a break.
How should we prepare if combining newborn and family photos?
I always recommend wearing clothes in natural, solid tones without buttons or busy patterns that draw attention. Colors that work beautifully together are shades of nude, cream, white, and browns, but other tones are absolutely fine as long as the family’s colors complement each other nicely. If you’re unsure, feel free to send me your outfit choices for advice—I’m always happy to guide and help with family styling decisions.
When will I receive the final photos?
You can expect your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks after the session.
